“The Bavarian has an earthly connection to religion but a truly mystical bond with beer.” – Johann Baptist Metz, theologian

Our Bavarian Beer and Oktoberfest Tour is an unforgettable way to immerse yourself in the heart of German beer culture. Bavaria, renowned as the birthplace of many world-famous beer traditions, offers a unique blend of brewing history, perfect flavor, and regional character. Not only will you taste a wide variety of beers, from hearty Lagers to harmonious Hefeweizens to the rich, malty Bockbier, you’ll also experience the cultural rituals and Gemütlichkeit (warm coziness) that surround Bavarian beer. Whether it’s enjoying a crisp, tasty Maß (liter of beer) in a vibrant Biergarten, touring a brewery that has been crafting beer according to the Reinheitsgebot (the Bavarian Beer Purity Law) for centuries, or toasting with locals in a rustic brewery tavern, each day on this tour reveals the passion Bavarians hold for their beer. Our Bavarian Beer and Oktoberfest Tour isn’t just about drinking; it’s a journey through history, tradition, and a way of life where every sip brings you closer to the Bavarian spirit.

And we crown it all off with a fun day at the legendary Oktoberfest in Munich!

We’ll also enjoy a relaxing day trip to the mountains, where we’ll visit rustic local breweries and take in the sights of Bavaria’s illustrious royal castles.

Next, we head to northern Bavaria for two nights in Bamberg, the heart of the region with the highest density of breweries in the world. In Bamberg, most breweries are small, family-run establishments that have been perfecting their specialties for generations, offering a truly unique taste of Bavarian brewing heritage.

We conclude our journey with a scenic boat tour along the Danube River as we make our way back to Munich. And for the grand finale, we’ll spend a day at Munich’s epic Oktoberfest, fully immersing ourselves in the world’s most iconic beer festival—a perfect ending to a week of Bavarian beer, history, and culture.

Beautiful view of the Andechs Monastery

Today in Munich, we’ll dive deeper into Bavaria’s brewing heritage with two interesting visits to Munich breweries, both with a particular focus on Carl von Linde, a Bavarian pioneer in refrigeration whose inventions transformed brewing by allowing consistent, year-round production—a game-changer in beer history. First we visit the Spaten Brewery, where his very first cooling unit was installed in 1873. Spaten was founded in 1397, yet is only the second oldest brewery in Munich. We follow this up with a special visit to an historical Linde ice machine, used for decades by the Paulaner Brewery. Lunch today is at Paulaner's traditional brewing location.

In the afternoon, we’ll take a scenic excursion to the Andechs Monastery, perched on a hill overlooking beautiful Bavarian countryside. Famous for its monastic brews, Andechs offers an authentic taste of Bavarian tradition and spirituality, where we’ll enjoy the rich, full-bodied beers crafted by the monks along with stunning views and a truly memorable cultural experience.
