Castles and Wine
Give Me Castles and Wine and Life Will Be Fine
Romantic castles and a fine glass of wine – what can be better than that? Our Castles & Wine tour takes you to fantastic locations in the wine regions of Germany, where ancient castles perch majestically over winding river valleys carpeted by vineyards and forests. Let us take you on a magical trip through history and the varied landscapes of viniculture in Germany.
This is a sample itinerary for the Castles & Wine tour. It can be customized to suit your interests. Please see below for more information.
On this trip every day has a castle or a palace and a special wine experience – a private tasting, a trek through a vineyard overlooking a river bend or exploring a centuries-old vaulted wine cellar. We visit 7 different wine regions in Germany! Each region has its characteristic wine and a generous amount of medieval castles and Renaissance palaces that nourish the romantic flair of the landscape. We’ll visit well-known locations along with some hidden gems “off the beaten path”. We start with the Mainfranken “boxbeutel” wine region then head to the German Wine Road before heading north to the Rheinhessen region (Germany’s largest). The last days of the trip are spent in the majestic Rhine and Moselle river valleys, perhaps the most enchanting region in Germany!
Book this trip and embark on a journey of beautiful landscapes full of majestic castles and a world of wonderfully delightful wines. You will delightfully discover that most Riesling wines are in fact, rather dry!
